Automatic per-order exports

An automatic per-order export produces one file for each order as it is created or fulfilled and uploads it to your SFTP or FTP server; support sets it up on a template.

An automatic per-order export produces one file for each order as it comes in and delivers it without anyone doing anything. It is the usual way to feed a warehouse, fulfilment partner or ERP that wants orders one at a time, as soon as they exist.

Support sets a template to run automatically. Then, when an order is created (or, if you prefer, when it is fulfilled), Exportify generates a file for that single order in the template’s layout and uploads it to your SFTP or FTP server. The file name can include the order number so each file is unique.

Automatic exports run in the background and do not appear in Recent exports; the file goes straight to the destination.

Contact support@exportifyapp.com with:

  • the template to use, or a sample of the layout you need
  • what should trigger the export: order created, or order fulfilled
  • the destination: your SFTP or FTP server (see Deliver exports to your SFTP or FTP server)
  • the file name pattern, for example ORDER-#{order_id}.csv

We configure it and send a test order file to the destination for you to confirm before switching it on.

  • Retries. If Shopify’s API is briefly unavailable when an order comes in, the export is retried. If a file is ever missing at the destination, tell support the order number and we send it again.
  • Filtering works here too. If only some orders should go, for example only those with a shipping address in one country, tell support and the rule goes on the template.
