Export only orders with a certain tag
To export only orders with a certain tag, open Tag Filters on the New Order Export form, type the tag under Only include orders with tags and press comma or Tab, then set the date range, choose your template and click Export; the filter applies to that export only, ignores capitalisation, and is available on every plan.
Tag Filters narrow one export to the orders that carry a tag, or leave tagged orders out. They are available on every plan and do not change your template, so your other exports stay exactly as they are.
A common use is a group of orders that needs its own file: tag them in
Shopify, for example wholesale or pre-order, and export just those
orders.
How to export only the orders with a tag
Section titled “How to export only the orders with a tag”-
Open a new export. From the Exportify home page click Run an export, or open Exportify from the Apps menu in your Shopify admin.
-
Set the date range. The tag filter works inside the date range, and the range is by the date each order was placed, not a pickup or delivery date. When orders for one batch come in over several weeks, cover that whole period.
-
Open Tag Filters. Click Tag Filters below the status filters.
-
Add the tag. Under Only include orders with tags, type the tag and press comma or Tab, or pick it from the suggestions, which list your store’s most used and most recent order tags. The tag appears below the field. Add more than one tag to include orders with any of them.

Tag Filters open on the New Order Export form, with wholesale added under Only include orders with tags -
Choose the template and click Export. Use the template you normally use. The file has its usual columns and contains only the matching orders.
How tag matching works
Section titled “How tag matching works”- Capitalisation does not matter.
wholesalematches orders taggedWholesale, the same way Shopify treats them as one tag. - The whole tag must match.
wholesaledoes not match an order taggedwholesale-eu. Add each tag you use. - Several tags include orders with any of them.
wholesaleandretailtogether export orders that have either tag. - Exclude works the other way round. Tags under Exclude orders with tags leave out every order that has any of them. You can use both fields in the same export.
- Tags are read when the export runs. An order tagged after an earlier export is included the next time you export.
- The filter lasts for one export. Nothing is saved to the template, and the next export starts with no tag filters.
When to put the filter on the template instead
Section titled “When to put the filter on the template instead”If every export from a template should contain only certain tagged orders, including scheduled exports delivered to your server, support can add a keep rule to the template itself. See Order and line item filters. Tags you add on the New Order Export form are added to the template’s own list, so an order with any of the tags is included.
